Lee Lewis was born on June 10, 1958 in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan at the center point where the three largest Great Lakes meet. Lee's father, Dallis Franklin Lewis, of Bonny Blue, Virginia, was in the U.S. Air Force. He married Marilyn King in 1957. They relocated to Wiesbaden, Germany and Lee Attended General H. H. Arnold High School for his Freshman and Sophomore years.

Early in the morning, on February 2, 1974, at the age of 15, Lee was struck and killed by a car while he was riding his bicycle. His passing was certified at the U.S.A.F. Hospital in Wiesbaden. Fellow classmate Elliott Powell, Class of 1974 remembers that he and Eric Scholz '74, played Taps at Lee's Memorial at the Hainerberg Chapel in Wiesbaden. There is a dedication to Lee in the WHS 1974 Der Krieger Yearbook.

Lee was flown back to the United States and was buried at Mission Hill Cemetery in Brimley, Michigan, not far from where Lee was born. The cemetery sits atop a beautiful hill overlooking Lake Superior.

Lee was survived by his parents and grandparents, a sister and brother, and many extended family. Because Lee's life was cut so tragically short, it wasn't possible to find any more pictures of him, so we've chosen to share a few things of interest, including a few pictures of Lee's final resting place.
